In the 1980’s most of the Greenwich firms were independent. By the 1990’s they had been gobbled up by national franchises. Jerry and I decided there was a need for an independent firm specializing in Greenwich real estate. A firm with personal service. One that really knew and concentrated only on Greenwich. One that could help buyers and sellers use our knowledge to get the best from their real estate investments. With this goal, we opened Anderson Associates.
Why did we say no to franchises?
With the success of our firm, the major real estate franchises began to call—and continue to call—asking us to join them. The incentives they offer, for instance, technology and programs, are not even close to what we are already doing. Being leaders in technology is one of our joys. As an independent firm we can more easily structure our systems and technology to meet the needs of our clients. We are not constrained by layers of hierarchy or national service fees. Our offices are in Greenwich. Jerry and I are always available.
