Welcome Lugano!

Opened on June 24 – Jerry and I have enjoyed both sides of this restaurant. The following is our review for the Anderson Guide to Enjoying Greenwich:

Lugano Salumeria & Wine Bar (Italian)
1392 East Putnam Avenue, Old Greenwich CT, 203.990.0955

According to your mood, Lugano offers two possibilities. One side is a small, contemporary space with white table cloths. The other side is a large trendy space, with a long bar, red booths and industrial touches. Named after an Italian speaking town in Switzerland, the menu is modern Italian. It’s a place you can stop in for a good glass of wine, salumeria and tapas – eggplant rollatini, truffle mac & cheese, crostini or have a salad like the arugula or campagna. You can also enjoy a complete meal. Our favorite entrees are the branzino picatta and the chicken parmigiana. The owner, Nick Racanelli, has two of our Stamford go-to-places, ZAZA and Dolce Cubano.
Hours: 11am-10pm (open soon for Sunday Brunch & Dinner).
Prices: tapas $8-$12, salads $7-$19, entrees $20-$24, wine by the glass $8-$16.
Size: quieter room seats 34, main room seats 78.
Note: Like all new restaurants, expect hours, prices and menus to change.
